USA Ranks in Final Top 4* at 16th Annual Miss Earth Coronation in Philippines
Ecuador named 2016 Miss Earth at pageant recognized for global environmentalism

Manila, Philippines – Corrin Stellakis of New York rallied to the elite top eight of this year’s Miss Earth pageant. Stellakis represented the USA among 85 national delegates during four weeks of activities in the Philippines.
EDIT: On March 8, 2017, Carousel Productions, the owners of Miss Earth, announced that the original fourth place elemental queen could no longer complete her duties as Miss Earth-Fire. Stellakis was invited to serve in this position. This marks the third year in a row that the United States has ranked in Miss Earth's Top 4 and has been presented an elemental crown.
The final coronation on October 29 was witnessed by thousands of fans at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Ecuador’s Katherine Espin was named the winner, crowned by outgoing titleholder Angelia Ong of the Philippines. Miss Earth is considered to be one of the largest and most watched pageants on the planet.
Rounding out the Top 4 were Colombia’s Michelle Gomez as Miss Earth-Air, Venezuela’s Stephanie De Zorzi as Miss Earth-Water, and *Brazil’s Bruna Zanardo as Miss Earth-Fire. Additional nations in the Top 8 were Russia, Vietnam and Sweden.
On August 1, Stellakis was selected to represent the USA out of nearly 50 state representatives. Age 19 and the daughter of Tracey and Chris Stellakis, she is a student at the State University of New York in Oswego. She has previously competed at Miss Teen USA and Miss World America.
Managed by Carousel Productions of the Philippines, Miss Earth focuses on empowering women through fashion, leadership, travel and service opportunities. Delegates advocate for environmental awareness and protection of the Earth while showcasing various tourist destinations.
Throughout October, delegates traveled to all corners of the Philippines to promote eco-tourism and bring cheer to the communities. During Miss Earth preliminary competitions, Stellakis received a gold medal in swimwear and a bronze medal as “Darling of the Press.” Competition components also include video, application, interview, public speaking, resort wear, evening gown, national costume and talent.
Celebrating her success in the *Top 8, Stellakis will return to the United States to resume her studies and support environmental causes, as well as conduct fashion and media appearances around the country. She will crown next year’s USA representative during the 2017 national contest on August 5 in Washington, DC. *As Miss Earth-Fire, Stellakis will have the opportunity to travel to other countries for environmental work and national pageants.
US Earth Productions, Inc. and national director Laura Clark currently have one international win under their belts this year, with Teen representative Sarah Levandowski of Texas claiming the title of 2016 Miss Teen Earth International on October 2 in Panama.
