Miss Earth United States to be Crowned August 1 in Washington, DC
Washington, D.C. - Miss Earth United States will crown its 2016 representative on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Schlesinger Concert Hall in Washington, D.C.
Over 50 American women ages 18-26 will take the stage with the chance to win the coveted title and travel to the Miss Earth competition in October. Delegates spend five days in the nation's capital with several shows and events open to the public from July 29-August 2.
Miss Earth is an international organization that raises awareness for environmental concerns and is recognized as a Top 3 pageant. Televised globally, nearly 100 countries send a representative each year with the chance to become Miss Earth.
The United States representative will be selected based on a variety of areas including photogenic, public speaking, interview, mutimedia, introduction video, runway, swimwear, and evening gown. Competition wardrobe sponsors include Mac Duggal, Vizcaya Swimwear, Pixton Design Group and Corpore Wear.
Miss Earth United States 2015 Brittany Ann Payne was celebrated as Second Runner Up at the 15th Annual Miss Earth Coronation in Vienna, Austria in December. She received First Place for her Eco-Beauty Video and was awarded the international title of Miss Earth-Water.
In January, Miss Earth announced the USA program was under new direction. The program added three supporting divisions: Elite Miss age 26-32, Teen Miss age 14-18, and Junior Miss age 11-14. National winners in these divisions attend the finals of Miss Earth in October to support Miss Earth United States and experience the international competition.
